WatchDog Privacy Policy

WatchDog is a companion app for the WatchDog Bluetooth device. We designed WatchDog to keep your data on your phone. This policy explains what that means in practice.

Data we collect from you

None. WatchDog does not have user accounts, does not contact a server, and does not include any analytics, advertising, or third-party SDKs.

Data stored on your device

WatchDog stores the following locally on your iPhone, and only on your iPhone:

• The list of WatchDog devices you have paired, including any nicknames, icons, and notes you assign to them.
• A randomly-generated pairing token, kept in the iOS Keychain, that your WatchDog device reads back over Bluetooth so it can recognise your phone.
• Motion events received from your WatchDog device.
• Your in-app preferences (language, settings).

This information never leaves your device. Uninstalling the app removes it.

Bluetooth

WatchDog uses Bluetooth solely to communicate with your WatchDog device. Bluetooth scan results and device data are processed on your phone and are not transmitted anywhere else.

Children

WatchDog is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy we will revise the date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app’s release notes.
